My Worst Fear Came True
My Worst Fear Came True
In October of 2014, I was fired.
Twelve years at that job, and my eleventh child on the way. My career had been my identity. We moved our family of twelve back into our 1,200 sq ft cabin — four girls in one room, six boys in the other.
My wife was asking me to take her on dates, but at the end of the day I was exhausted. My children were on autopilot — I was doing the actions, but I wasn’t present.
My spiritual life was vocal prayer and Mass on Sundays.
Everything else was business.

I realized I needed to change — my patterns had stopped producing the results I was hunting.
So I prayed to do God’s will and to find the path forward.
I spent the next year searching for a framework. Every Catholic challenge I found focused only on the spiritual life. But I knew:
- I still had to provide for my family
- My children needed me to lead them
- My wife needed me present
The path became clear: a man has to grow in all four areas of his life, every day.

I took what I learned from Wake Up Warrior, refined it through a Catholic lens, and committed to living it daily.
What Changed
- Meditation changed my life — a constant focus on growing in virtue, and I became present for my family and my business
- Date nights changed my marriage — for the first four weeks I just listened, and most of it was about where I needed to step up and lead our children
- My business took off — I pivoted to a completely different industry and built my own company
- I weaponized my body

Why “40”?
The Forty Martyrs Of Sebaste
Around AD 320, forty soldiers of Rome’s Thunderbolt Legion, stationed at Sebaste in present-day Turkey, refused to renounce Christ. Their punishment: to stand naked overnight on a frozen lake. Warm baths were set on the shore for any man willing to deny his faith.
They stood together through the night, praying that all forty would be crowned. One broke and ran for the warmth — and died. A guard on the shore saw what they were made of, declared himself a Christian, and stepped onto the ice to take his place. By morning, there were forty again.
They refused to renounce Christ — and died martyrs.
That’s what 40 Strong is: men who hold the line for their faith, their wives and their children — and who don’t let a brother stand on the ice alone.
My Legacy

My life isn't just about theories or strategies. It's about a legacy built through the trenches of raising thirteen children – nine sons, four daughters.
From my 27-year-old trailblazer to my spirited 7-year-old, I've lived the chaos, the challenges, and the profound joys of fatherhood.
And now, I'm a grandfather of three, witnessing the cycle of legacy continue.
